Let me be really straightforward with this post. If you don’t like hearing words like “save the world” or “be the change” and terms like sustainable development, please don’t read further. In fact, wait, you should definitely read this and think about it.

It all started a few weeks ago when a friend of mine shared a link with me. It’s called The Story Of Stuff Project. I was actually thinking of getting a new cell phone, not that I really need one but because I really love tech stuff and products, so much that I do run a tech blog too. I saw this video and decided I don’t really NEED a new cell phone right now. I am not trying to scare you away with this video. Actually, I think each and everyone should watch this video. Why? Because it tells us the story of stuff, stuffs that we use each day in our lives.

You know, I honestly own a lot of gadgets, but I always think I need more but at the end of the day, it’s just lying around somewhere. Do we really sit back and think what we are actually doing? No! It is time that we do sit back and think about how we use products, and that starts with understanding how products are made in this world.

From its extraction through sale, use, and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affect communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something, it’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

Please do spend a few minutes and go through this video and share your comments.
