Content Curation or Content Creation

curation

Content content everywhere, not a drop to consume! Well, that sounded a little too dramatic, but honestly, the fact is that there is a whole lot of content on the Internet today. Considering that there is so much already out there, is it still a good thing to create content? Or should you rather be the good guy, do some hard work and curate content?

I’ve always faced this question with my blog on startups, TheTechPanda.com. While I am still not sure as to what the best practice is, I am getting inclined towards the curation part. With a lack of quality writers who’d also be passionate about the topic, no doubt curation seems a better way forward. Continue reading

DoTheRex Youtube 6 May

How can you make a condom ad go viral, you ask? Well, take some cool music and lyrics, add some rap to it, sprinkle in some Bollywood masala and there you have it! And that’s exactly what Durex, the global leader in sexual well being, did to gain quite a lot of eyeballs on social media.

Pinterest

Pinterest’s co-founder and CEO Ben Silbermann made quite a few announcements at the SXSW today. Hot news is that, apart from getting profile redesigns, users will now also be able to pin videos. Moreover, an iPad app is expected to come soon.

According to the tech news site Mashable, Silbermann said that the virtual pinboard’s redesigned profiles pages will be released this week and they will be beautiful.

“I’m so excited about it,” Silbermann said during a SXSW conference today. “We wanted to make it more beautiful…to make your profile different in kind than the profile you have on Facebook.”

The redesign will display people’s influencers more prominently and the ability to find other like-minded users will become easier, reports Mashable. Additionally, Silbermann said users will be able to pin video from Vimeo, Hulu, Netflix, and more.

As for the iPad app, Silbermann would not give a specific release date but did confirm it is in the works. So far the only Pinterest app out there is for iPhones.
